Buntes Geschirr

Autor: marius – 19:46

  1. This new format we’re upiadtng to is very confusing to navigate through. Is there a way to force the default viewer messages to always remain on newest thread‘ that was posted? Currently, myself as well as the other members of my groups find it a little silly to have the conversations‘ option as right now, in my one covnerted group- it defaults to showing closed topics that were posted back in 2007. I don’t want stuff being initially displayed that was done several years ago, I’d like to have messages always displayed easily for my members so that message navigation is simple for what we use the groups for (we mostly use it for messaging, as we run several role playing groups here on the forums)A big key to the role-playing groups is to easily tracks the thread replies based on time histories and always kept in order they appear.Currently it appears as a mish-mash..Will this be cleared up by the time the final is released? Also, the delete format should be reworked.Currently the delete‘ option for a post on the message board is a one click and it’s gone feature. I *really* would like to see a feature to prompt you to inquire Do you really want to delete this?‘ as currently, I’ve accidentily‘ clicked that delete button and have lost posts that I can never retrieve nad if there was a safety net on it (since it’s so much easier now to accidentily‘ delete a post would we be able to see something like that included in these updates to make the features more doable? You could include a click-able window for those that wish to ignore it‘ and possible, under Management‘, a feature to bring that deletion prompt‘ window back if you accidentily‘ get rid of it and want your safety net again.(This should also just be incorperated in because I’ve had stuff deleted‘ because of lag when I was obviously clicking on the area that indicated read more‘ in a post)Also, when this version of groups is updated- will we have more controll on how messages are displayed? I’m not concerned with any of the new sparkly features, only the message portion as that’s what groups are all about. (for role-playing forums, especially)Will the message history options be returned? My group can post thousands of posts a month- (it’s also a way we advertise to get members to prove how active we are.)Can we get those features back? I really need to have them so I can access files quickly from, let’s say, June of 2002, or March of 2009.It also is nice to see how successful a group is running to have it displayed, mybe on the About‘ page to showcase a group’s activity (this really helps people searching for groups as well so they can see what groups are active‘ to their tastes.)Will the message area be able ot be color coated?I honestly think we need a way to use colors to establish post title areas from the post text like how it was show-cased in the older groups. The layout and design for how it currently displays is far too busy and it makes it a lot more difficult and confusing to navigate through, so I figured, as a fellow interface designer, to put in my two cents there to make things easier on everyone (if this isn’t already an intended feature for us to manipualte in the future)Also..Will there be a way to show case the Post title‘ on the left instead ofthe right?I’m so used to the old format that the poster names (in my case scenarios) are far less important than the thread titles. I need to be able to have quick access on thread titles in order to know what’s going on where and how- is there going to be a way, under the management options- on how to display the message formats under Messages‘?I think it would be nice to give Group Owners an option there. So instead of it saying yahoo_username‘ replied to Thread A‘ we can switch it to read Thread A‘ by yahoo_username’A lot of the updates are sleek looking, but I honestly think the message portion still needs some development love‘.I hope my suggestions above can help you out and satisfy those that are unhappy with how things are displaying.I must say it is very frustrating ot have to constantly fix the message page to read recent messages‘ everytime I view it (like fifty clicks a day..)I’m assuming this is because it’s a beta issue but in all honesty..I dunno if I will have the patience to continue to use the new features if that one simple glitch alone won’t be resolved. In the older versions, you could swap between the two views of message displays and it would save whihc one you wanted..This new format does not.Is that because of the beta or is this permanent? Thanks a lot for your time!I really appreciate all that yahoo groups has to offer so I hope my questions and 2cents help make the updates smoother and user-friendly for all.-Jen
